Critics

Dalla celluloide alla tela - di Fabrizio Corgnati

“Una rassegna d’antieroi, una sfilza di personaggi che potrebbero essere usciti dalla celluloide di “America oggi”, film capolavoro di Robert Altman: questi sono i protagonisti dei quadri di Luca Zampetti. Come in Altman, nei lavori di Zampetti il mondo è visto come si trattasse di un acquario: bello, curioso, completo a volte, affascinante di rado, ma sempre meritevole di un’occhiata o poco più”.....

All’indimenticato critico Maurizio Sciaccaluga, che con queste parole definiva la natura cinematografica della pittura di Zampetti, l’artista rispondeva che la sua opera è in effetti una muta sintesi di intere sequenze, condensate in un racconto completo che rivive nel dinamico rapporto tra la figura e lo sfondo. È nell’ultimo periodo della sua evoluzione artistica che Zampetti avvicina i suoi quadri al mondo del grande schermo: quando i suoi personaggi tornano protagonisti della scena metropolitana, ritratti in vere e proprie inquadrature da “piano americano” e con singolari dissolvenze di fondo che dipingono atmosfere realistiche ed evocative. Attraverso la sua matita e il suo colore, Zampetti porta sulla tela la poetica e l’anima della celluloide con rispetto e devozione per i suoi tempi, i suoi spazi e le sue attese. Viene così ribaltata la prassi consueta di un cinema che si ispira alla storia dell’arte, rendendo i quadri fotogrammi e la sua matita una macchina da presa.
Ad ispirarlo più di ogni altro è Sergio Leone e, in particolare, “C’era una volta in America”, capolavoro datato 1984. Se da un lato il pittore marchigiano introietta il mondo stereotipato e visionario del regista fatto, come recita il titolo di un altro suo capolavoro, di “buoni, brutti e cattivi”, dall’altro sulla tela carica questi stessi personaggi, catturati nei primi piani tanto cari al grande cineasta e in atmosfere squisitamente metropolitane, di un significato mitico (diceva Leone che “il cinema dev’essere spettacolo, è questo che il pubblico vuole, e per me lo spettacolo più bello è quello del mito”). Gli attori cult di numerose generazioni, da Henry Fonda a Charles Bronson, vengono da lui immortalati con volti meditativi e trasognati, in pose inusuali, sospesi in un limbo che li rende eroi inermi, divi del contemporaneo, vere e proprie icone pop sfumate nella patina della memoria. La loro azione viene azzerata da una rappresentazione scarna, essenziale, quasi desolante, fatta di dettagli, sguardi o gesti che da soli sanno condensare l’universo di un’intera sceneggiatura. A contribuire al raggiungimento di questo effetto è anche la scelta tecnica di Zampetti: l’uso del formato sedici noni, la carta gialla che rievoca le pellicole d’epoca, i flashback a grafite in bianco e nero in contesti contemporanei e colorati e, soprattutto, i fondi realizzati ad encausto: tecnica che consiste nel diluire i colori in cera fusa e che contribuisce ad individuare la cromia portante delle opere. Per riassumere con le efficaci parole del poeta Enzo Santese, “aleggia nella pittura di Luca Zampetti quella che è ormai la coscienza diffusa d’essere inquadrati in una sorta di grande fratello della quotidianità, in cui ognuno può cadere nello spazio d’azione di una telecamera posizionata in banca, in ufficio e in mille altri luoghi di concentrazione sociale. Il preludio a un avvenimento di portata indefinibile è inscritto come fermo-immagine di un film dai molteplici sviluppi narrativi; l’evoluzione imminente della ‘storia’ si legge nel lavoro dell’artista che fa del piano dipinto il territorio di una ricerca, mirata alla rappresentazione di immagini bloccate nell’attimo in cui si precisa il contorno di un’attesa”.
